Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a C# Application Developer. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a leading company in Charlotte, N.C. The application developer will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, support and maintenance of multiple tier applications written in Java and C#. The candidate must have hands on experience and knowledge of technologies including relational databases and C#/.NET. Prior experience in development and support of financial applications is a plus. II. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS: This position primarily covers .NET WinForms applications within the IT group and reports to the Product Development Manager. III. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Technical Expectations: 1) 2-5 years professional hands-on experience of the full SDLC in C#/.NET WinForms application development 2) Prior experience with Java/J2EE and Delphi is a plus 3) Deep understanding of object oriented design 4) Knowledge of C# syntaxes, file structures and compilation procedure 5) Knowledge of common templates, standard libraries and application structure 6) Deep understanding of memory usage, memory blocks distribution 7) Understanding of objects lifecycle and garbage collector, CLR, CTS, CLS and ADO.NET 8) Experience with debugging, profiling and unit testing 9) Extensive experience with .NET remoting 10) Prior experience with relational databases (Oracle 10g/11g and Sybase 12.5.3) 11) Experience with XML and GUI design 12) Working knowledge of performance testing is a plus 13) Knowledge of logical and physical database design 14) Experience using Subversion and Cruise Control 15) Familiarity in working on NT and Unix operating systems 16) Wxcellent problem solving and communication skills. 17) Ability to identify and evaluation technologies 18) Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies Management/Leadership Expectations: 1) Ability to work independently with or without direction and or supervision. 2) Portray professional demeanor. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Background / Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Any certifications a plus. Previous Work Experience: 3 years designing and developing java server side solutions Knowledge of financial industry highly desirable Specific Knowledge / Skills: Knowledge of Hedge Fund or Financial industry a major plus Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Knowledge of Microsoft XP, UNIX (Solaris, Linux), basic networking Excellent listening, questioning and analytic skills Excellent telephone techniques/customer service skills Excellent oral/written communication skills. Environmental Demands: Must be able to maneuver effectively within environment. Demands may include additional hours within work environment during non-business hours. Essential Physical Demands: Physical Demands: Primarily sitting Must be able to verbally communicate effectively in English Mental Demands: Must be able to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
