With the unemployment rate exceeding the 10 percent mark, it is more important than ever for job seekers to gain an edge in this competitive market by expanding their professional networks. Forming new relationships and partnering with  Human Resources professionals can take a job search beyond the typical online applications and cold calls to potential employers. On April 23rd, we hosted Raleigh’s first Pink Slip event. We brought job seekers together with employers who were actually looking to hire.

Former Recruiting Manager and now Career Coach Rachael Boone, Executive Recruiter, Sabrina Little organized a terrific event uniting recruiters, employers professionals looking for work in today's tough economy.

Modeled after the successful Wall Street Pink Slip Party in New York City , the Triangle Pink Slip Party offered an opportunity for job seekers, employers and recruiters to network in a relaxed setting while benefiting a worthy cause – 100% of the proceeds benefited The Antwan Harris Foundation.

The event was covered by a number of local area media outlets, including all major TV networks. Speaking on the Eyewitness News, Rachael Boone positioned the event as “network in a relax environment and learn how to get pass the gatekeeper!

With approximately 10 employers looking to hire interested job seekers, the event was a huge success.

This is a FREE event for the community. We ask all employed individuals to make a donation to The Antwan Harris Youth Foundation, a local charity that offer assistance to youth in the inner city to encourage career development, job coaching & life skills.  Small fee for employers and sponsors.
