Job Description
Purpose and Scope:

Analyzes and develops telecommunications networks supporting a

wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and /or wireless services. Senior
level engineer with extensive design and integration experience for providing oversight
and customer support for voice, data and video implementation. Excellent knowledge of
customer service premise and central office switching technology and cable backbone.
Provides oversight and customer support for voice, data and video implementations.
Responsibilities:

Acts as the technology lead for designing the network and security platforms and

technical lead supporting network.

?

Under direction, studies, designs, engineers, constructs, installs, and coordinates

telecommunications equipment, systems, and facilities;

?

Performs engineering studies involving equipment, applications, or theoretical

analyses

?

Installs, configures, and operates networks in highly complex environments with

specific protocols and instruct and direct those doing these tasks as well

?

Possesses a thorough understanding of VoIP concepts and fundamentals; has

experience in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of VoIP solutions

?

Experience planning, configuring, installing, and operating Brocade and CISCO

network devices.

Skill and Technical Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of eight years

experience, of which at least six years in the last nine calendar years must be specialized.
Specialized experience may include design of VoIP solutions, voice solutions,
LAN/WANs with a software supplier, systems integrator, engineering consulting firm or
an ISP, CLEC, IXC, or a LEC.

Education and Training:

A Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, computer science,

or a related engineering or science discipline from an accredited college or university.

Certification from appropriate training institutions is desirable such as Cisco Certified
Internet Expert Voice (CCIE), Cisco Certified Internet Professional (CCIP), or Cisco
Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Security +, Network +, CCNA. Certifications
must be validated by providing your Cisco ID # and viewing of the certifications through
the Cisco Certification Tracking System; networking Computing Environment
Certification from Brocade of CISCO
