The position of Slitter Operator located in Conover, NC will operate the slitter machine with safety being a core value, to produce first quality rolls with a minimum waste of supplies, materials and personnel time.

The Slitter Operator will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:

* Working safely and follow all safety rules
* Seeking training in coordination with team members, trainers, and supervisors
* Operating all slitting and packaging equipment for assigned department
* Setting up slitters to run at established departmental production goals and yield rates
* Ensuring that all materials and supplies are correct for product being produced per CSI and/or work instructions
* Completing accurately and in a timely manner, all required production reports and forms
* Reading and responding as necessary to all company communications including Lotus Notes Mail and other applicable databases
* Maintaining production of a quality product and control waste
* Understanding the 5S system, GS-1, GS-2, CSI System, and all ther appropriate guideline documents
* Performing any miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor
* Assisting in the training of other employees
* Handling hazardous materials
* Participating in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position and responsibilities for 3M employment

This position will require working:

* Rotating shifts
* Weekends
* Extended hours

This position may require working:

* Holidays

**Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M testing as a part of the selection process

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)

Qualifications

Basic/Minimum Qualifications:

*
High School Diploma and/or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

* 3 years experience in a manufacturing plant environment
* 1 year of combined experience in web handling, coating, film extruding, slitting and/or converting
