Must have excellent proficiency with Windows-based computer programs including Microsoft Office, Atoll, Mapinfo, Rf-Vu, iBWave, and Wireless Valley. SUMMARY: The Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Senior RF Engineer is a design and product specialist serving as a main point of contact between the Customer in a given region and the DAS Proposal organization. The incumbent is a subject matter expert on the in-building and outdoor DAS solutions designed, deployed and operated by our Client. The incumbent uses sound RF Engineering principles and planning tools to plan coverage/capacity, and maximize performance of Distributed Antenna System (DAS) networks. The incumbent must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and principles of Radio Frequency (RF) design such as link budgets, frequency planning, inter-system interference, and propagation basics, and in particular, as those concepts relate to DAS product offerings. The Senior RF Sales Engineer must be flexible in managing his or her workflow on a daily basis and use their discretion on task management based on the priority set by management. The incumbent must be very well organized, articulate, and capable of developing technical solutions that best serve the customer and our Client. Job Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Interacts with customer and Our Client RF engineering resources to develop preliminary DAS coverage areas. Design outdoor DAS systems to meet desired coverage objectives using software planning tools. Develops preliminary DAS technical information including link budgets, system designs, and radio frequency prorogation studies. Plan, coordinate and oversee drive testing including CW, benchmark, and optimization. Set standards for DAS design criteria. Tune propagation models using empirical data. Interprets radio frequency benchmark test data to determine candidate DAS deployment areas. Works with the Customer organization to develop leads and finalize sales process. Manages and develops relationships with customer technical and business contacts. Works with financial and business planning models. Provides support for real estate acquisition, regulatory, permitting, and asset management teams. Prepares and delivers technical sales materials and presentations to customers and internal organizations. Prepares reviews, and approves technical exhibits associated with customer contracts and leases. Supervision of third party contractors. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Four-year engineering degree granted by an ABET (Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology) accredited university program or equivalent experience. A minimum of 8 years engineering experience including at least 3 years experience in wireless communications engineering required. External facing experience including, but not limited to, customers, suppliers, technical sales, etc. DAS experience preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Sales or product management experience desirable. Knowledge of RF Engineering and wireless infrastructure equipment required. Strong understanding of RF Engineering and business fundamentals Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with customers, suppliers, and internal functions Effectively manages execution of deliverables while also identifying new opportunities that serve the customer better and/or yield savings for the company Excellent organizational skills Proven track record of communicating effectively (written and verbal) with customers, groups, and/or peers Ability to work in a team and independently Ability to problem solve and provide inventive solutions Solid understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools, CDMA, GSM and antenna theory.
