Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a talented Sr. Bridge Engineer for the Raleigh, North Carolina office.  The position will be responsible for developing original bridge plans, calculations, and special provisions for traditional highway bridges involving prestressed concrete and steel. Will oversee plan preparation and provide guidance to younger engineers. Lead the quality control process for his/her bridge projects. Exercise professional engineering responsible charge on projects within his/her range of competency.  Communicate effectively with other disciplines within the project team. Support PM and group manager in building lasting client relationships.

• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering 
  • 4 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Proficient with MicroStation, Microsoft Office Software, Mathcad or other general software
  • Candidate should be detail oriented and should have strong skills in structural analysis, steel, and concrete design.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering focus
  • Experience with structural analysis software packages
  • Experience on NCDOT projects
