HYG is looking for an energetic Supervisor, Curriculum Development who will have a positive influence on the training team.  As Supervisor, Curriculum Development, you will lead curriculum developers in the process of creating world class education, events and materials as assigned for HYG, dealers and internal sales/technical staff including needs assessment, instructional design, development, draft review & approval, evaluation with special emphasis on innovation and project management.  The Supervisor may focus on Special Projects, Sales, Technical, Product, Aftermarket or Multi-Media development. The Development Teams may be dedicated or virtual as appropriate to the project.
The successful Supervisor, Curriculum Development will have the following Key Accountabilities:
  • This position is accountable for supervising the design and execution of all needs assessment activities for Assigned team projects. (i.e. sales, sales management, Professional Development, Financial Services, Aftermarket, Operator, Products, Technical, Parts, Operations, e-learning, etc.). This will require the Supervisor of Curriculum Development, to lead a team to focus on materials handling industry trends as well as Hyster/Yale retail activities and regional field support activities. This individual will execute on a business case for project development and identify, create, conduct and supervise all focused needs assessment activities.
  • This position is responsible for leading a team in the design and development of curriculum and materials (i.e. Learning Objectives, Design documents, Participant Guides and materials, Facilitator Guides, Job Aids, etc..).
  • The Supervisor of Curriculum Development will manage and coordinate all designers, developers, reviewers, and writers assigned to certain educational programs, ensuring the correct people, talent and skills are assigned to the proper roles all leading towards the objective of creating world-class education and upholding corporate standards of quality and excellence.
  • This individual will also supervise the review of all drafts of design documents and materials (e.g. Facilitator Guides. Participant Guides, Program Support Items, Video Scripts, Contracts, etc.)to ensure alignment with PLS design principles, Mission / Vision and educational themes.
  • This individual will manage and develop a team to lead all document design / review meetings and all beta / pilot classes relating to assigned educational programs, determining revision scope while adhering to established timelines.
  • This individual will search for every opportunity to build efficiency into the design and development process in order to reduce cycle time, and provide high levels of audience accessibility. In this role, the Supervisor of Curriculum Development will review assigned educational programs, acting as a consultant to management and Subject Matter Experts and be responsible for integrating key philosophies (e.g. customer-centered sales approaches, communication techniques, etc.) into all education managing for consistency across all programs.
  • This position will support and integrate all key educational philosophies (e.g. adult learning techniques, lifelong learning, and individual growth) as well as the fundamental values of integrity, commitment, enthusiasm, trust and respect into all assigned activities. 
  • This individual will be involved in a broad range of organizational decisions requiring a close working relationship with all Managers and supervisors to insure integration and implementation of  programs. They will coach the management team to experiment with creative new ideas and lead them to successfully work with other groups to effectively achieve both team and organizational goals.
  • The Supervisor of Curriculum Development will design and integrate evaluation activities into all assigned educational programs to support the goal of measuring results.  This will require working closely with the Requestor and Supervisor responsible for evaluation in developing criteria for each assigned class in alignment with the learning objectives.
  • They will plan for and execute a redevelopment timeline in order to insure the status of  programs as current and innovative for the time.
  • Following Pilot and Launch this position will coordinate the effective handoff to the appropriate functional teams.
  • This individual will advocate and closely adhere to Project Management activities to insure all assigned projects are on track and following ISO processes. Other related Projects or Assignments as required by the Director of Training.

The successful Supervisor, Curriculum Development will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years contacting and consulting with businesses
  • 5-7 years Designing, Developing or Facilitating corporate training
  • Practical application life experience 5-7 years supervising the development of corporate training in a team based environment
  • Formal education – Bachelors Degree (with certification in ISD or Human Performance    preferred) (will consider non-degreed internal candidates based on experience, past performance and willingness to complete a certification process)
