Cherry Hospital is recruiting for permanent full-time Senior Psychologists. This position will provide and supervise psychological services in Adult Acute Admissions Unit for severely and persistently mentally ill (SPMI) adults. Duties include clinical and administrative supervision of several Staff Psychologists, as well as psychological assessment, treatment planning and development, behavioral programming, and individual and group interventions targeting independent living skills development. Opportunities exist to supervise interns and practicum students from the newly developed pre-doctoral internship program.

- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified applicants must document on the application that they possess all of the following:
- Broad-based knowledge of psychological theory and its applications in the treatment of psychiatric disorders is required.
- Competencies in psychological assessment and therapeutic intervention and clinical goal formulation are essential.
- Applicants should have proven ability to work well with interdisciplinary treatment teams in planning, developing and providing appropriate treatment interventions with SPMI patient populations, including those with dual mental illness/substance abuse disorders.
- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and two years of professional psychological experience, one of which must be postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regarding experience requirements.
**Trainee Appointment may be considered at a lower salary of $54,887 with a Doctorate's Degree from an accredited school.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
