Operation Christmas Child empowers and equips the local church around the world to change their communities as they share the Gospel and disciple new believers. You are invited to join this work and receive on-the-job training that will give you all the tools you need to be successful in this ministry. Samaritan’s Purse is seeking a Regional Specialist Apprentice to serve with the Operation Christmas Child Americas regional team through the Samaritan’s Purse Apprentice Program. This is a paid two year training position with the express goal of preparing the individual to be qualified to take on a full-time role with an Operation Christmas Child regional team at the conclusion of the training program.
 

The Regional Specialist Apprentice, Americas will serve on the Operation Christmas Child International Team based in Boone, North Carolina, working with Regional Managers and Regional Directors to support staff and volunteers in the field. The Regional Specialist Apprentice will be trained and gain experience in relationship building, recruitment, selection, training, equipping, and leading of volunteer National and Regional Leadership Teams, as well as the administrative and operational duties that underpin it all.

You will be trained and given the opportunity to:

  • Recruit, select and train National, Regional and Strategic Volunteer Leadership Teams in countries within the region
  • Identify and develop International Field Representatives
  • Mentor teams as they develop a strategy to facilitate the OCC ministry (Gospel presentations and Discipleship Programs) in their respective countries
  • Train, coach and follow-up with Volunteer Resource Coordinators to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Monitor the disbursement and use of project funds
  • Coordinate training and mentoring opportunities within each of the assigned countries
  • Complete special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
  • Bachelor’s degree, or three to five years’ related experience and/or training
  • Proficiency in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking) is required, fluency preferred
  • International travel of up to 80-100 days per year required
  • Cross-cultural living and ministry experience strongly preferred
  • Administrative acumen; ability to make decisions, conduct business, and maintain data in a digital world
  • Attention to detail, ability to execute and follow-through, organization and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to build relationships and work with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds
  • Come willing and eager to learn

Samaritan's Purse Mission Statement:
