Job Description

The Claims Administrative Assistant is responsible assisting the Claims department in all administrative/clerical activities.  Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Processes refund requests         
  • Correspondence Dashboard      
  • Faxes   
  • Live Mail (which includes live checks from payers)           
  • BYOLB Uploads(Info from CC forwarded to UPM for Upload)     
  • Posts Refund Checks      

Skills/ Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative support capacity in a claims department
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills communicating logically and clearly (verbally and in writing)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office & proficiency in data entry
  • Experience and knowledge of insurance payer websites (e-appeals & verification of eligibility) preferred
  • Knowledge of Insurance guidelines and contracting information according to industry standards preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Billing & Coding or Certification is a plus
  • Knowledge of governmental insurance especially Medicare and Medicaid according to industry standards is a plus
