As the Database Administrator III, you will be responsible for troubleshooting problems, implementing solutions, and monitoring the effectiveness of the databases that keep XPO running smoothly. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Build industry-changing applications for the third-party logistics (3PL) industry
  • Design, Install, configure, support, and manage SQL servers and databases in clustered and standalone environments.
  • Manage and test backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Perform upgrades and patches to SQL Server database
  • Proactively manage database support issues and effectively take corrective actions
  • Oversee the scaling and availability of SQL Server databases

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 5 years of database administration experience with SQL Server; strong SQL Server (preferably 2012) administration experience in a clustered environment
  • Experience with SSIS and SSRS
  • Expert in SQL Server performance tuning and query monitoring
  • Strong understanding of relational data modeling
  • Expert in T-SQL

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience in a startup environment
  • GoldenGate experience
  • SQL 2017 Linux experience
  • Microsoft SSAS and data warehouse design
  • OLAP cubes and MDX development
